Pátzcuaro is located in the highlands of Mexico about 3 hours by car northwest of Mexico city and 3 ½ hours southeast of Guadalajara.   Situated at the edge of Lake Pátzcuaro it has been the center of the P'urepecha people for hundreds of years.  Pátzcuaro is characterized by crisp blue skies, a temperate climate and refreshingly clean air.  From May to September you can expect thundershowers daily which account for the beautiful green in the panorama above. 

Our home is located about 2 blocks from both La Plaza Grande (Vasco de Quiroga ) and La Plaza Chica (Gertrudis Bocanegra) making it central to the city and its attractions.   It has recently been remodeled, keeping the colonial architecture of the central historic district of the city.
